About

Sister Lakes Michigan sits in the fruit belt of Michigan and has a nice small town community feel to it. There is plenty of local produce grown all year round from apples, peaches, strawberries, asparagus, sweet corn and cherries. People actually wave to each other as they drive by because most everyone knows each other. It’s not uncommon to see cars parked in the middle of the road as drivers talk to each other.

The local lakes and activities on them provide some excitement and the calendar of activities can be quite full. Only 2 hours from Chicago, the summer holidays can make the area downright crowded as summer homes become full of friends and family enjoying the area. But even then people put the hectic lifestyles behind them and get some rest and relaxation for a change.

The area isn’t entirely a 2nd home or bedroom community. The local farms are always busy in and out of season. The area businesses are open year around for the full time residents. The Sister Lakes Lions and Sister Lakes Fire Department are fixtures of the community all year. But no matter when, Sister Lakes is always a pleasant community.
